

Jane was born to Belle McFarlan Hutchison and David Edgar Hutchison, M.D. at her parents’ home in Downingtown, Pennsylvania on June 30, 1920. She had two older brothers, D. Edgar (Ted) and Horace Hutchison, who preceded her in death.
She graduated from Downingtown High School in June 1937 at age 16 and earned a B.A. in Sociology and Psychology from Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania in 1941. During World War II she worked for the draft board. Subsequently was an elementary teacher in Pennsylvania and a children’s librarian for the Dearborn Public Libraries in Michigan.
Jane married John Henry Kaempfer on January 12, 1946 in Downingtown. They lived in Downingtown until 1962 when following John’s transfer by Ford Motor Company, they moved to Dearborn, Michigan. In 1985 Jane and John retired to Florida on a permanent basis where they lived in Briar Creek of Safety Harbor for 23 years before moving to St. Mark Village, Palm Harbor. John pre-deceased her by 8 years and one day.
She was an active and dedicated member of Central Presbyterian Church in Downingtown, Littlefield Presbyterian Church in Dearborn, and Northwood Presbyterian Church in Clearwater.
Jane is remembered by many Briar Creek residents for the hilariously sparkling plays she produced and directed for many years in the park. Along with directing plays and other Briar Creek activities, she enjoyed playing bridge, doing crossword puzzles, watching sports--especially football and baseball, antique collecting and travel.
Jane is survived by her two children, Jane Dickey Fedelem and husband Pete of Fremont, Michigan and Safety Harbor, and son William Hutchison Kaempfer of Safety Harbor. She has four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
