

John David Mockler, age 50, of Palm Harbor, Florida passed away on Saturday June 1, 2019. John was born January 28, 1969 in Bay Shore, New York (Long Island area). When he was two years old, the family moved to Clearwater, FL. One of his earliest passions was music and especially playing the drums. While attending Palmetto Elementary School he played the flute in the band. When he attended Kennedy Middle School he began playing the drums. His love for music continued to grow and in his late teens he started playing in local bands. In 2003, John graduated from International Academy of Design & Technology. A year later (2004), he married the love of his life, Natalie. He and Natalie shared a passion for weaponry and were the owners of Florida Survivalist; a firearms store in Dunedin, FL.
John was preceded in death by his father, John Thomas Mockler. He is survived by his beloved wife, Natalie; mother, Janis Mockler; mother-in-law, Janice Strazzere, of Palm Harbor, FL; Aunts Linda Beekman, of CA and Nancy Lopatin, of NJ and his furry babies, Annie and Spock.
John will be sorely missed by his family, friends, community and his fellow survivalists.
A funeral service for John will be held Saturday, June 15, 2019 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home located at 2853 Sunset Point Road, Clearwater, FL 33759. The funeral service will be followed by graveside service and burial (Saturday, June 15, 2019) from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park, 2860 Sunset Point Road, Clearwater, FL 33759. After the burial, the family will be hosting A Life Well Celebrated Gathering and Reception (Saturday, June 15, 2019) at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home in Grand Oaks Hall from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
