He was the son of Dominick and Dorothy Erigo. Joe grew up in Brooklyn, NY. Joe was raised with three siblings; John, Pasquale, and Marion.
Joe was a great father to his children. Joe was blessed with four children; three sons, John, Joseph and James, and one daughter, Diane. Another blessing for Joe was the gift of one grandson, Lucas.
Fortunately, Joe enjoyed what he did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Joe worked diligently and did his best to succeed in his career. He was a computer programmer. He was also very proud to be a school crosssing guard. Joseph always sought to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done.
Joe served in the Army. His fellow soldiers viewed him as a brother in arms and knew that he was as much a part of their family as their loved ones back home.
Joe enjoyed his leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. He loved golf, cruising, the occasional game of chance, and being the life of the party.
Joe passed away on December 12, 2018 at Suncoast Hospice Community Center. Joe fought a brave battle against lung cancer, COPD, and kidney failure. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Susan and his children John, Joseph, Diane (David), and James (Brittany). He is also fondly remembered by his grandson Lucas and his sister Marion. Joe was married for 27 years to his deceased wife Gloria Erigo. Services will be held at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home. Joe will be laid to rest at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park.
Simply stated, Joe was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Joe leaves behind him a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories.
