Judith Saville Wuerdemann

Born to William Saville Grainger (late) and Jane Rockwell Grainger (late) in Hartford, Connecticut on March 24, 1941, she was the middle sister of three, and always had a special relationship with her father.

Predeceased by her younger sister, Georgia Estrella, Judy is survived by her husband, Horace Wuerdemann; her three children: Erika McGrath (Jim McGrath), Heather Douglass (Rob Douglass), Brooks Wuerdemann (Star Wuerdemann); her eldest sister, Jan Kepner, four grandchildren (Kyle McGrath, Erin McGrath-Molina, Bradley Douglass, Amanda Kosko) and three great-grandchildren (Jade McGrath, Ivy McGrath, and Logan Kosko).

A proud graduate of Southern Seminary & Junior College, Judy was a wife, a mother, and a true homemaker. She spent sixty-one years married to the love of her life, Horace, “Ace”, dedicated herself to raising her own children, and then spent nearly two decades lovingly caring for other children in her home. Judy and her family loved to travel; especially cherished family memories were a month-long continental United States road trip visiting nearly every state, and three years in Germany in the 1980’s where they thoroughly explored Europe.

Judy was a dedicated curator of beauty, and her home was a place she proudly tended. She had a distinct talent with flowers and was known for creating gorgeous arrangements. For many years she volunteered her services to church altar guilds, and happily helped family and friends with flowers for special events, including the bouquet for her granddaughter Amanda’s wedding. Judy loved a good gathering of friends with gourmet food and wine, and especially enjoyed putting together a bright, colorful outfit to go out in.

Judy spent the last decade of her life living in Clearwater, Florida enjoying her community at Regency Oaks. Always lovingly cared for by Ace, Judy was especially supported by him in her last years.
