Luczki, Laura Ella, 100, of Burton, Michigan passed away July 4, 2021 at The Hospice House of Shiawassee in Michigan. She was born in Youngwood, Pennsylvania on August 23, 1920. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Andrew Peter Luczki; parents, Floyd and Mabel Smith; her brothers, Raymond Smith and Albert Smith; her grandson, Nikolai Andre Luczki; and best friend, Lydia “Lee” Rodriguez. Laura is survived by her son, Thomas (Mary) Luczki, and daughter, Lu Ann (John) O’Brien; her grandchildren, Katja (Jeff) Thomakos and Jason (Becky) O’Brien; her great-grandchildren, Ella, Daniel, Alyssa, Jaden and Caleb. Laura lived for many years in Detroit and Troy in Michigan and also in the Tampa/Clearwater area in Florida. She last lived in Oldsmar for many years before moving to Burton, Michigan. She was a very independent and resourceful individual. When the other residents in her Florida building left for the summer or on vacation, she was the one who took care of their homes, and she did so into her 90s. She had special recipes for pierogies, stuffed peppers, cream puffs, and pumpkin pie. Laura and her best buddy Lee loved to go out to movies, restaurants and shopping together. She loved to play Rummikub and could whip anyone at it! She loved everyone she met, and they loved her in return. Special thanks to Baquita Reezer (care coordinator), Reformation Home Health, and McLaren Hospice. Memorial services are pending. Interment will be at Sylvan Abbey in Clearwater, Florida.
