Lester R. Stoller passed peacefully and prepared to meet our Lord and God on December 30th, 2016. He was a beloved husband, father, papa and friend.
Les was a 1957 graduate of New Haven high school. He and Marcia (Little) were married October 14th, 1961 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in New Haven, Indiana. In 2016 they celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary at their home in Clearwater, Florida. They felt blessed to live and raise their daughters in their home in New Haven on Middle Street for 43 years.
Les owned Stoller Excavating and retired from Brooks Construction Company as a heavy equipment operator. He ran on the Democratic ticket for Mayor of New Haven, Indiana. Les was a softball coach for the New Haven Girls Softball League long enough for all four of his daughters to play. He golfed in the New Haven golf league and enjoyed bowling in a men's and couples league. Les never met a stranger. He told corny jokes and made some up and repeated them often. Les especially enjoyed Country Music and was delighted to see Merle Haggard perform at one of his last concerts. Les would sing and play guitar for the enjoyment of family and friends at home and around the camp fire.
In 2005 Les and Marcia completed and moved into their new home on beautiful Lake Malone where for nine years Les enjoyed friends, fishing, boating and Dripping Springs Baptist Church. Looking to be with family, warm weather, flat land and the best doctors to treat his lung cancer, they moved to Clearwater, Florida where, for a short time, he enjoyed family and friends, golf and wood shop, and friends at Grace Baptist Church.
Les and Marcia had four daughters Bridget, Andrea, Angela and Deborah, who in 2000 preceded Les in death. Bridget and Alan Lukomski live in Fort Myers, FL with their children Allison and Madeline. Andrea lives in Bridgeport, WV and has three children Jacob, Nick and step-daughter Danielle Musser. Angela and her husband John Zervas live in Bexley, OH with their children Tom and Elena. Craig Nichols lives in Fort Wayne, IN with his and Debbie's children Max and Myah. Les was known as Papa to his grandchildren, Lec to family in Ohio and Sam to his friends in New Haven. Les loved and cherished his many family and friends from Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky and Florida!
Les was preceded by his father Clyde Stoller and mother Clara Sinn Stoller. He is survived by his sister Ruth and his brother-in-law Chris Lee Wuethrich and his sister Marian Yoder and his brother Richard Stoller and sister-in-law Arlene; and all Marcia's brothers and sisters along with many nieces and nephews.
