Lois Marie Martineau

Lois Marie Martineau (née Herron) died peacefully in Oldsmar, Florida on Tuesday the 14th of July 2015 at Sun Coast Hospice after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in 1936 in Houlton, Maine, Lois received a diploma in nursing from St. Vincent Hospital School of Nursing in 1957. She worked as a Registered Nurse during several periods of her life, most recently at Sun Coast Hospital in Largo, Florida. She retired in 1995. Driven by an unshakeable faith in God and his plan, Lois possessed an optimistic view of life that was a source of comfort and inspiration to her family and her patients. She enjoyed traveling and was fortunate to have the opportunity to visit the four corners of the world with her husband, Maurice. In addition to her husband, Lois is survived by sons Michael (husband of Tracy) of Ottawa, Ontario, and Matthew (husband of Janet), daughters Celina (wife of Alex Rolland) of St. Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, and Lisa Marciano (companion of Billy Dubay) of Tampa, FL, sister Kelly Heindl (wife of Tim) of Bow, NH and sister-in-law Suzanne Brown (wife of David) of Lakeland, FL. She was the proud grandmother of Ronald, Thomas, Nicholas, Francesco Mario, Alexis, Alexandria Marie, James, Marguerite France, Patrice, and Annabelle and great grandmother to Aimee, Lea, and Boston. She was preceded in death by sisters Carol, Joyce, and brother John. A funeral is scheduled for 10:00am on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Light of Christ Catholic Church, 2176 Marilyn St, Clearwater, FL, with reception to follow at the club house at Gull Aire Village where Lois resided for many years. For Lois’ and Maurice’s many northern friends and family, a memorial service is planned for August 15th, 2015 in St. Jean-sur-Richelieu. Lois’ husband and children offer their sincere thanks to the staff at Sun Coast Hospice for their compassionate care.
