Madalyn Jean Muse was born on May 25, 2004 at St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City, Missouri. Her parents are James and Carmen Raum of Palm Harbor, Florida and Travis and Pam Muse of Holts Summit, Missouri. Maddie was raised in Holts Summit, Missouri and moved to Palm Harbor, Florida in the 8th grade. Maddie had one sister, Lillian Muse of Palm Harbor, Florida, two half brothers, Josh and Travis Muse, and 3 step sisters all of Holt Summit, Missouri.
Maddie had taken part in dance since she was four years old, beginning at Dancer’s Alley in Jefferson City, Missouri and later studying at Suncoast Academy of Dance in Palm Harbor, Florida. During this time, she studied Jazz, Tap, Hip-Hop, Contemporary, and Ballet including Pointe. In her spare time she liked reading, dancing, doing art, listening to music, watching movies and had a love for cars. She demonstrated an excellent vocabulary and command of language and would even correct bad grammar. However, to Maddie, the most fun to be had was spending time with her close friends.
Growing up, some of her best friends were Olivia Brookins and Grace Bolton. Later in life, she also became friends with Destiny Layne, Sonia Larson and Darlene Theophilopoulos, who describe her as beautiful, a carefree fiery spirit, outgoing, independent, strong, hardworking, loyal, and someone on whom you could always depend. Her time of socializing was always followed up by solitude when she had “peopled” too much.
Maddie attended Palm Harbor University High School and was preparing to graduate in May of 2022. She enjoyed some courses more than others, having favorite classes and teachers. Maddie enjoyed her art, science and also her psychology classes and was asked to join the Psi Alpha National Honor Society for Psychology. The teachers she enjoyed learning from the most were Tracey Elkins and Greg Pozun.
She was employed at Frenchie's Fish Market, and loved working with Mike, Jen and all the Frenchie's staff.
Maddie took all of her personal and moral obligations seriously and she would stand up for those she loved. She participated in RCIA and was Baptized and Confirmed April 16, 2017 at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Holts Summit, Missouri.
Madalyn had many dreams and wanted to travel the world. She was going to start after graduation with a school chaperoned European tour that she was paying for herself. After she returned from her trip she was planning to join the United States Air Force on the Pararescue team. She hoped to continue her education in the medical field with a goal of becoming an Anesthesiologist. Before she could reach these goals, she passed away on December 20, 2021 at home in Palm Harbor.
Madalyn Jean Muse was a beautiful, funny and intelligent young woman whose vibrance and wit touched the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She was taken from us way too soon, and leaves an empty spot in all our hearts. Now, we only go on in the knowledge that she will again be raised, and that we will one day be reunited with her.
