

BRYANT, MARGARET BENNETT “MOGIE” 89, of Safety Harbor, Florida, formerly of St. Petersburg & Tampa, Florida peacefully passed away at home on December 12, 2014. Born in Des Moines, Iowa, she moved to Tampa at an early age. She was a cheerleader at Plant High School and attended Florida State University. She studied dance in New York City with such famous teachers as June Taylor, Robert Joffrey, Luigi, Gus Giordano, David Howard and many others. After moving to St. Petersburg, Florida, she owned and directed the Bryant-Jacobsen Studio of Dance, which was renamed the St. Petersburg School of Ballet & Dance Arts. She directed the St. Petersburg Concert Ballet which became the St. Petersburg Dance Theatre. A long time member of Dance Masters of America, she would take students to many conventions where they could learn from famous and master dance instructors and choreographers. She retired in 1992. Survivors include her daughter, Shel Bryant-Berg, and her husband, Ken Berg, her granddaughter, Liza Jaine French and her husband Jonathan French, her great grandson, Wyatt Hadrian French, her nephew, Michael Bryant, and her two nieces, Betsy Bryant and Katy Bryant.
