Maria del Rosario "Rosie" Vijil

Maria del Rosario (Rosie) Vijil, of Clearwater, Florida passed away on October 25, 2025, at the age of 90. She was born on November 21, 1934, in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico, to the late Saturnino González González and Cesárea Herrera Sáenz.

Rosie lived a life rooted in faith, love, and family. A devoted and faithful woman, she was a cherished member of Light of Christ Catholic Church, where she joyfully lifted her voice in the choir and found great comfort in her spiritual community. Her faith guided every step of her life, and her gentle spirit reflected the light of Christ she so deeply believed in.

As the beloved matriarch of her family, Rosie’s greatest joy was being surrounded by those she loved. She was the heart and soul of her family, a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose warmth, generosity, and wisdom left an everlasting mark on everyone she met. Her home was always filled with laughter, music, and love, a true reflection of her nurturing spirit.

Rosie is survived by her beloved children, grandchildren, siblings and an extended family who will continue to honor her memory and carry her love in their hearts.

A visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home, 2853 Sunset Point Road, Clearwater, Florida, 33759.

The funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on November 3, 2025, at Light of Christ Catholic Church, 2176 Marilyn Street, Clearwater, Florida, 33765.
