Martin Lomasney

After a long battle with Alzheimer's disease, Martin R. Lomasney, 77, of Manchester, NH, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014 at Suncoast Hospice in Pinellas Park, FL.

Marty was born May 12, 1936, in Cambridge, Mass., to Martin and Marion (Dyer) Lomasney. He graduated from Northeastern University with a B.S. in civil engineering and a M.S. in sanitary engineering. Marty was also a member of the ROTC and a Captain in the Army Engineering Corp. On Aug. 29, 1959, he married the former Patricia Mary Percy, to whom he was married for 28 years. Martin was employed as a civil engineer, eventually co-founding his own firm, and specializing in solid-waste management programs, emergency-response planning, subdivision planning, and highway planning and design. In his spare time, Marty enjoyed doing yard work, watching television, reading, and spending time with his family.

Marty is survived by his son, Jon Whitcomb Lomasney; two daughters, Lauren Lomasney Perley and Kristen Lomasney; his grandchildren Margaret Lomasney and Brian Lomasney; and his two nieces and nephew.
