Mercedes A. Perez

Mercedes was compassionate, kind, and loved and supported her family unconditionally. She was a devout Catholic and member of St. Michael Catholic Church. Mercedes found great joy in cooking, cleaning, and entertaining friends and family. She was known for delectable black beans and flan, and enjoyed gifting to family and friends during the holidays.

She is survived by her daughter, Carmen Luisa Bates, son in law Richard Bates, son, José Luis Perez; sister, Alicia Devlin; grandson, Raymond Joseph Bates, and his spouse, Marybeth Bates; great granddaughter, Addilyn Bates; many extended family members and friends.

In addition to her parents, Mercedes was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 69 years, Arnaldo J. Perez.

A visitation for Mercedes will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 from 11:30 until the service at 1pm at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home, 2853 Sunset Point Road Clearwater, Florida 33759.

Entombment will immediately follow at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park, where she will be laid to rest with her husband, Arnaldo and mother, Baldomina.
