He was born on August 11, 1952 in Rochester, New York to the late F. Diane (née Kroubalkian) & Francis Malinka.
For the past 25 years Michael worked for Meadowlawn Middle School, teaching chemistry and biology.
In his free time he enjoyed, traveling, hunting, fishing, and watching westerns and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Tampa Bay Rays. Most of all he cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Laurie Jean Malinka; daughters, Sara (Matt) Worner, Megan (Tom) Nicholls; grandchildren, Maverick Worner, Sawyer Worner; siblings, Frank (Marilyn) Malinka, Mary Ellen (Andrew) Britt, and Robert (Sue) Malinka; many extended family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his siblings, Patrick Malinka, Kathy Malinka and Thomas Malinka.

A visitation for Michael will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024 from 4:00 PM until the Celebration of Life at 5:00 PM at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home, 2853 Sunset Point Road, Clearwater, Florida 33759.
