Nanci G. Volini (Sheehan), of Clearwater, Florida, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on October 18, 1943, in Flushing, New York, and later made Clearwater her final home.
Nanci was the beloved wife of Fred Volini, with whom she shared 61 years of marriage, having been united on September 6, 1964. Together they built a life centered on family, faith, and unwavering devotion to one another.
She was a loving mother to Dawn Volini Zaleski and Robert Volini, both of Clearwater, Florida, and a proud and devoted grandmother to Julia Ellis (and her husband Matt), Freddy Kalolo, Nik Kalolo (and his wife Kam), Ana Volini, Joey Volini, Bella Volini, and Bobby Volini. Her joy in her grandchildren was unmistakable, and her presence in their lives constant and generous.
Nanci was an integral part of Volini and Son, the family business that thrived for many years in Chicago. Her strength, determination, and practical wisdom were foundational to its success. Above all else, however, her greatest work was her family — the home she built, the traditions she preserved, and the love she gave freely.
A woman of deep faith, Nanci lived her life guided by quiet spirituality and enduring strength. She embodied the words of Proverbs:
“She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.”
Those who knew her well remember her confident independence, generous heart, and unmistakable sense of humor. She loved to shop. She also loved music, particularly singing and laughing through imperfect karaoke sessions with her beloved sister Diana, who preceded her in death. The family takes comfort imagining the two of them reunited, joyfully “getting the band back together.”
Nanci is also survived by her brother Pete Sheehan and his wife Marie, along with extended family and many dear friends whose lives were enriched by her presence.
She will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, humor, faith, and family devotion will live on in all who were fortunate enough to know her.
A viewing followed by a service will be held on January 16 at 12:00 PM at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home in Clearwater, Florida.
