Nancy Susan Sallen

Nancy Susan Sallen, 81, passed away peacefully on July 25th, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, grace, and quiet strength. She was a cherished daughter, devoted friend, and a guiding light to all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Born on July 8th, 1944, in Fort Madison, IA, Nancy lived a life rooted in kindness, devotion to family and deep faith. A devoted Catholic, her faith guided her throughout her life and was a source of strength and comfort to all who knew her. This was demonstrated by her work at the Spirit of God bookstore and serving as a teacher’s aide and volunteer at Our Lady of Lourdes School. She was always present and willing to support her family, through the good and the difficult times.

Nancy is survived by her children, Michael (Heather), Carrie (Kurt), Lisa (Doug), and Candice; grandchildren, Steven, Christopher, Andrew, Kyle, Ryan, Claire, Aarynlee, Emma and Gavin; and great grandchildren, Wyatt, Brayden, Blake, Raiden, Blair and soon to arrive, Gracie Lee. She is also survived by her siblings, Carol, Jean and Tom, who will forever hold her memory close. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Mildred; and sister, Peggy.

Nancy found joy in reading, crossword puzzles and most of all, in time spent with her family. Her gentle spirit, strong faith and unconditional love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know to her.
