Niki, 

Though we only hung out a few times, you left an impact on me. Everyone you touched feels a hole in their heart right now. You were taken from us too soon. 

I still remember first meeting you. My mom brought me over to your house to play saxophone, and I was amazed and envious of how good you were. We went to the gym a few times, and I can still remember how we laughed when I couldn’t eat a spicy sandwich.  

Over the years, you grew into a successful young man, and I am proud to have met you. 

You were a modern renaissance man. Anything you touched, you mastered. But what amazed me the most was how you shined. 

Always happy, always putting others before yourself, and always positive. You didn’t know it, but you inspired me to do better. 

You are everything a son and a young man should aspire to be, and a gem of our Bulgarian community. 

My heart is heavy, and my thoughts and prayers are with your family. Your memory and impact will live on in everyone you touched.

I have endless stories running around with Niki as kids and teens, Niki was one of my oldest friends from the Jamestown neighborhood and was always the brightest among us. He was so prolific in his interests, he showed me so many amazing things from classical music, how to ride BMX bikes, build a computer, fly a plane on flight simulator, even how to pirate videogames online lol. We shared many laughs and adventures. Niki was so successful and excelled at so many things, I felt I was in the presence of a true genius around him and he was a great friend above all else. I wish to say a prayer for his family in his memory, may he have eternal life in heaven.

I wasn’t as close with you as I wish I could’ve been Niki but the memories I have of us all hanging out at Kennan’s house, playing games together, and being made fun of for asking to play Speedrunners will forever be memories that I’ll cherish and be grateful for having been apart of.

I could count on you to make me laugh anytime, especially when we were supposed to be quiet in class. Your impressions and nonstop joking won’t ever be forgotten.

This picture will always make me smile, it was so much fun being a kid with you. I’ll remember you forever and even though it’s so hard to think of you being gone, we can think of how much life you lived and the impact you’ve made on so many. Rest in peace Nikolay

Nikolay and I’s friendship began back in 2017, when we both took the lifeguard certification class and later worked together at North Shore Pool. From the very beginning, Nikolay had this incredible way of making people laugh. He carried a fun, magnetic energy and  light about him that made people feel comfortable, welcome, and valued. 

One of my favorite memories is when he took me on my very first motorcycle ride. I was nervous at first, but he had this way of making you feel safe and excited all at once. That ride showed so much of who he was—adventurous, full of life, and always eager to share what he loved with others.

Even though he’s no longer with us, Nikolay’s spirit—the laughter, the memories, and that spark of freedom and fun—will stay with me, and with all of us, forever.

We were heartbroken to hear about your loss. There are no words that can truly ease the pain of losing someone so young, so full of life, and with so much still ahead of them. It's a tragedy that feels brutally unfair and impossible to understand.

I hosted an event at my house at the beginning of the year to get people together to celebrate friendship and our passion and love for two wheels and my friend got this cool picture of Niki on his DRZ. Always had a huge smile on his face.

I met Nikolay at AnyDesk and we built a quick rapport through our common interest, mountain biking! He let me know how much he enjoyed it and that he often would go to the Alafia  River State Park to mountain bike. I could tell he really enjoyed it. It was great to connect with him on that and many other things.

I miss you terribly. When life brought us together, I thought to myself, I finally found my other half. We instantly clicked over our shared love for music, animals, art, games, and the unusual. During our time together you brought me joy, companionship, patience, and care. You never judged me and on the contrary, you made a special place for me in your life. You made me feel seen and understood. For that, I am eternally grateful. 

From the day I met you to the day you left, I am proud to say I was at your side. Although life did not give us the chance to see where we could have gone, the time we got to spend together was invaluable. You always made sure I was happy and having fun. You made so many of my dreams come true. I will forever look back and cherish our memories. You made my life magical. 

You introduced me to so many new things, as I did my best to do the same. Your car, your bikes, your culture, your music, your incredible talents and hobbies. You would share every piece of yourself with me selflessly. You taught me so much and were willing to give so much more. 

Although there were so many plans we had and places we wanted to go, I know you would not have wanted me to live in a life of regret and what-ifs. So I will do my best to look back at our time with happiness. I am grateful the world allowed me the opportunity to share time and create memories with you. I will reach our goals in honor of you. 

I hope you felt how much I cared for you and loved you. I know I felt how much you did. I haven’t stopped reading over the letters we wrote. Words cannot even begin to describe how much I miss you. I think about you every single day, from the moment I wake up until I go to sleep. These past couple of months, we started to drift apart a little and talked less and less. I always told myself never to live with regrets, but if I could change one thing, it would be that we spent more time together as we got older.

I always looked up to you and wanted to be like you. Every time you asked me to go ride mountain bikes, I’d hesitate because I was never that good at it, but I still went anyway because it meant I got to be with you. I loved watching you do your crazy stunts, wheelies, and jumps. You were fearless and so talented.

You were always in the garage working on something whether it was your DRZ, your car, or all the bikes we had. You fixed and upgraded every single part until it was perfect. Anytime you asked me to help, I’d be right there, but the truth is, you always figured out every problem on your own. I admired that about you so much and I was fascinated by how your mind worked and how determined you were with every project.

At night, I’d hear you playing guitar and I would stop whatever I was doing just to listen from the other room. You never got angry, you were patient with everyone, and you truly cared about people. That’s something I’ll always carry with me. 

I have so many pictures of us when we were younger—laughing and being goofy. Looking back at them now breaks my heart, because the hardest part of losing you is knowing I’ll never get to see you grow older, start a family of your own, or share those future moments with mine. But I know deep down that you’re still with me, and when my time comes, we’ll meet again and I’ll have so much to tell you.

Niki, I love you so much. You left an impact on everyone you met, and especially on me. Life is unfair, but I know I can’t give up. I keep moving forward because I know that’s what you’d want for me. Everything I do now, I do for you.

Nik, getting into Tampa/Clearwater office and shaking your hand was almost always a ritual every time I've visited the US.
