Olsen, Patricia “Patti” 66, of Clearwater, Fl, passed away on 05/02/2023 at her home with her family beside her. She was born in Waterbury, CT, to Albert and Marie Vellucci, whom she loved and admired greatly. Patti and her family attended Light of Christ Catholic Church, where she and her husband were married 47 years ago.
Patti was full of life — fun-loving, vibrant, feisty, and magnetic. She could make you laugh without fail and always had a quick-witted response in her back pocket. She was the strongest, most generous, and most empathetic person that anyone could be lucky enough to know. Patti was truly there for anyone she crossed paths with — she would never let anyone go hungry or in need of anything. She took care of everyone around her and loved her family fiercely. Patti was artistic, creative, and free — with a glow and a smile that energized people around her. She loved spending time with her mom, Marie, who meant the world to her. She loved traveling and the mountains, playing pinball, attending concerts, gardening, and listening to her favorite music (especially Bob Seger). She loved staycations at the Safety Harbor Spa with her husband and the love of her life, Carl. Carl and Patti were together for 51 years. They met at the Sid Licton Rec Center at the ages of 15 and 17 and have been together ever since. Carl and Patti truly gave meaning to their wedding vows and loved each other profoundly and unconditionally. They had two children, Kristin and Jamie. Patti loved spending time with both of her daughters and was happy just being with them—whether it was watching tv, running everyday errands, going out to eat or going to concerts, going to the casino to play the penny slots, or on a trip. She loved nothing more than playing with her four beautiful grandchildren, who lit up her world and filled her with immense joy.
Patti is preceded in death by her father, Albert Vellucci, and her grandparents, Peter and Philomena, as well as Frank and Antoinette. She is survived by her devoted husband, Carl Olsen; loving daughters Kristin (Richard) Winkelmann and Jamie (Joseph) Schultz; her mother and best friend, Marie Vellucci; and her siblings Gayle (Karl) Wetzel, Richard (Nancy) Vellucci, and Laurie (Dion Bianco) Vellucci, whom she held so dear. She is also survived by her four grandchildren, her niece, Alicia (Al) Wald, nephew, Joshua (Alexis) Vellucci, and their families, and her cousins, Billy DiLegge and Jason DiLegge. Patti’s exuberance had a lasting impact on anyone who met her, and the world is a better place because she existed. She will be deeply missed by many.
Funeral Services in Patti’s honor will be held at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home in Clearwater, FL, on Thursday, May 11, 2023. Visitation will begin at 11 am until 12 pm, and memorial services will be held from 12 pm - 1 pm in the Grand Oaks room at Sylvan Abbey. The burial will directly follow at 1 pm at the cemetery.
