

Rajaram K. Khatri
January 26, 1935 – November 27, 2025
Waheguru – wonderful Lord. With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Mr. Rajaram K. Khatri, by God’s will and grace, on November 27, 2025. He was surrounded by his loving children.
Born on January 26, 1935, in Shikarpur, Sindh Pakistan, Rajaram’s life was full of kindness, courage, and a deep love for his family. As a young man, he navigated the partition of India, moving his family to a new home in Ulhasnagar, India in 1963. He was driven by the desire for a better life for his children and to support his brothers and sisters. In Dec 1969, he showed courage and bravery to move from India to Michigan, to establish his professional career. In June of 1970, he was able to move his family to Michigan after securing our first home in Clawson, Michigan.
Rajaram built a distinguished career as a Civil Engineer and Land Surveyor, graduating from N.E.D. Government Engineering College in Karachi, Pakistan in 1958. He was widely regarded and respected for his expertise and contributions to his field, leaving a legacy across the Detroit Metropolitan area. His work ethic was incredible and well recognized, which has set the example for his entire family.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 54 years, Godavri Khatri, twelve years ago. Rajaram was devoted and dedicated to his wife. Following her passing, Rajaram moved to Clearwater, Florida, where he spent his final decade living life to the fullest, enjoying the warm sun, the loving community, and his well-deserved retirement at On Top Of the World.
Rajaram is survived by his five loving children: Ratan (Vicky), Sunita (Ashok), Rita, Gita (Glenn), and Jaishree (Brad). His memory will be cherished by his nine grandchildren – Raina (Daniel), Anjoli (Dan), Alisha, Amber (Derek), Natalie, Nicholas, Leanne, Ethan and Rajan. Also, by his two great-grandchildren – Sai and Sahil. He was so proud of each of them. He was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, deeply loved by his sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews and community, all of whom will miss his kind and gentle spirit.
Rajaram’s example of love, family connection and his humble soul will continue to guide us. He loved you all.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Dec 1, 2025 at 9 am at the EAC, On Top of the World. A service will be held in Michigan at a later date and a Final Celebration of Life will occur in India at a later date.
