I was Ron's mailman for over 20 years...he was someone that I spoke to almost everyday..after he retired..he was full of wisdom and also a great cook...he would bring me out whatever food he made the night before for dinner...and I always looked forward to it..i actually loved the whole family...great men have great family's he was a great man...a great dad...and a great friend..he will be greatly missed ...to the rest of the family im so sorry to hear this...may GODS peace be with you! At family gatherings Uncle Renato would always greet me with an enthusiastic “Heyyy Maria!” And a kiss on the cheek. He always sang at parties and kept it lively. I’m going to really miss that and our family gatherings won’t have as much spark without him. 

I first meet Ron over 20 years ago at Saturn of Clearwater. At that time I was working across the street at Lokey Oldsmobile.  I would stop by Saturn from time to time and Ron was always very friendly to me. We became friends and the without knowing it we became neighbors back in the late 90s. Turns out I bought my house right across the street from his. We would talk and occasionally drink a beer. Ron you will be greatly missed. Miss you my brother.

In loving memory for a “Great Man” Mr. Ron Costabile. I remember all the love and kindness you and your family bestowed upon me and everyone else. Not one day goes by that you didn’t put your 2 Cents on every conversation, Trust me we appreciated it as young growing minds do, you were always right. A Wise and caring Man, above and beyond as Husband and Dad. Family and Happiness  were important to you, this is what counts in Life and this shows true with your family. You are one of a kind and will miss you Dearly with all the great times we shared together.  Ann, you are a wonderful wife and Mom to your children. My condolences to you and your family. I’ll never forget the first time I met him at his and Ann’s house. He kept smiling in a subtle, almost sly way—perhaps he knew then what I didn’t, that in the coming weeks, months and years I’d date, marry, and start a family with his son. From then on, I was never a stranger in their house.

Renato had a talent for filling the room with vibrancy, charisma, and personality wherever he went. He would wax poetic for hours about Italian film directors, Italian and Greek history, and current affairs.  He and I related on all but the first item (which he discussed at length with Chris). He called me “hey girl” until he finally remembered my name. He loved cracking jokes at family gatherings, often trying to solicit reactions from the others. There was never a holiday—or dinner, even—without a glass of wine and insistence on second helpings. 

In his quieter moments, he would sit and observe, making occasional observations that always demonstrated his love for his family. I’ll miss him popping back in with additional ruminations on passé discussion topics, interjecting in his gravelly tenor imbued with a thick Italian accent. He asked direct questions and enjoyed illustrious answers.

As much as I and countless others miss him, I count myself very blessed to have known Renato, let alone become his family.

I met Renato and his lovely wife when our children Chris and Alissa got engaged. He was so kind that he gave me a beautiful book of poetry that I still cherish. I'm grateful to know that part of him lives on in a granddaughter we share, our precious Ramona. 
My heart and prayers go out to his wife, sons, daughters in law and grandchildren. ❤️

My dear husband we were young when we met, but in our hearts we knew we loved each other. You came to this country we married and have a beautiful loving family.                Through our 49 years together we managed to stay focused and always agreed that in life family is the most important. We knew we had to strive for each other and our family and do the best for them no matter life's obstacles.                                                  You have gone too soon.                I wish you could have stayed longer with us so you could have spent more time with your family. Toney & I are so sorry to learn about the passing of your Dad.  He was a good man, and a lot of fun to talk to.  We were fortunate to get to know him a bit at your wedding.  He was so interesting and full of life!  The last time we saw him was at Ramona's birthday.  Toney spent a long time talking with him at the party, and really enjoyed their conversation.  I remember how much he liked the Rosati's pizza because of how the pizza was made, we had a whole discussion on that.  He really loved that the pizza was like the pizza he would get in Italy.  I know this is a very difficult time, but these memories are precious, and you will always have them.  Sending you all much love and support during this difficult time.  Please know that we are thinking of you, and we are remembering what a wonderful man your father was.

While I did not know him well, it was abundantly clear to me that he loved his family and experienced great joy when he was around them.  

May he rest in eternal peace and love.

This man was my father. He came to my baseball games when I was a kid, showed me how to play soccer and pitch-and-toss, and encouraged all of the good things I would do while criticizing the bad in a way you might expect from a man who never minced words. He told you what was on his mind whether you were ready to hear it or not. Sometimes he found himself seeking forgiveness for the things he said while angry, but I loved him despite these flaws, which after all, were no greater than the next man's.

Though we had a tumultuous relationship in my youth, over the last decade we both grew milder and wiser - more capable of saying "I love you" to each other, and not just during trying times. He loved his grandchildren dearly, to the point that I regret not having my daughter sooner just so he could have had more years with her. I hate the fact that now I'll only be able to explain to her who he was in pictures, because anyone who knew him knows that for better or worse, his personality was larger than life, which is much more than you can say for many of today's men, who merely try to contort their character into boxes society has carved out for them.

My father raged against that conformity. Some disliked him for it, but it's what I loved the most about him. He raged until the end, pulling a feeding tube out from his stomach while sedated and laughing to his nurse about it. He taught me the valuable lesson that while society might frown upon rage and discourage it and find it taboo, it's often warranted and sometimes even necessary - because so long as it's controlled, it can lead to action and productivity and even to a change for the *better*.

I wish I had more time with him. I wish I had called him more, though we both hated talking on phones.  But life is fragile and ephemeral, and while we often spoke few words, in our own way, we said enough. Enough to know how much we both cared. 

Love you dad. If you're out there maybe we'll meet in the next one.

Happy Fathers Day Renato!  You were an amazing Grandfather and Father.   I wish you were here celebrating with your loved ones but I am I positive you are up in Heaven watching over us and celebrating with your Heavenly Father today.

In Memory of Ron Costabile,
One of the fondest memories of Ron goes back to my younger years. Ron on many occasions offered Eric and I valuable advice. Of course, during this time we thought we had all the answers.  There were many occasions following conversations with Ron, I would turn to Eric and say, "You know Eric, your Dad was right".  Eric’s response was always the same, he would nod and say “I know, he was right”.  Ron knew how to deliver a message without making someone feel offended, his advice was always from his heart and experience.  On occasion, he would leave us to our mistakes, in hopes we would walk away with critical life-lessons, and never once said "I told you so".  I always felt respect for Ron and Ann upholding their Italian Heritage and traditions.  There was never a time I was a guest in his home, Ron did not say "Nick, did you eat?"  Another memory that resonates with me, was when Chris Costabile took up music and formed his own band.  Those of us that know Chris, recognize how musically talented he is, and I know Ron knew it from the start.  I share this memory as it was testament to Ron's character, and how unselfish and proud he was of his children. Chris and the band would practice in the garage often, and I recall thinking "Oh, boy Ron is not going to like this noise".  Quite the contrary, that never happened!  Ron would come outside, pull up a chair and listen.  Didn't matter how different the music was from his era, or how loud it was. Ron would just smile and listen. Ron, I will never forget the lessons, advice, kindness, compassion, and respect you treated me with.  I will always cherish and remember our conversations about Greek/Roman history, and will miss you dearly.


We will never forgot the birthday parties, or Sundays that we spent doing barbecues with the family.

Renato did truly love his family I can attest to this personally.  He sang at his Son's wedding, cheered at his grandson's Soccer games and you could see him bursting with pride as he held each of his grandchildren.  He worked hard to provide for his family and was always there for anyone who needed him. He will be greatly missed.  Rest in Peace Renato.... May the Angels carry you into God's loving arms.

I was so lucky and blessed to have you as a part of my life and my kids are lucky to have you as a grandfather. There was never a soccer game, practice, birthday or holiday that was ever missed.  

You were never one to sugar coat things or not speak your mind. But you also showed us every time possible just how much you loved us all. 

I can make you this promise, I will love your son with all of my heart forever and always have his best interests ahead of everything.  Your grandsons Errico and Leo will never forget you.  Even though you are no longer on this earth with us, I know you are in our hearts where you will live forever. We will honor you in how we raise our children and  in how we love eachother in this family. 

You will always be here with us, never to be forgotten.

I'm starting off by saying this was my father, my teacher my first hero in this world.. He was married to my mom for 49 years which is by definition an unheard of magical accomplishment especailly given the world we live in.. He taught me so much from the small things like driving a stick shift car to things that matter like family and health is the most important things you have in life.. He would cherish even an hour with his family over any amount of money. He loved everyone close to him more then words can express and we loved him the same.. He left his immediate family in Italy to come to the United states and start his own giving everything he had for us.. The most unselfish man I have ever known.. I will always remember and love him with all I have left in me.. I will pass his greatest teachings to my sons and to the people around me always.. My biggest regret is that I should have told him more of how much I felt and loved him when he was here.. A week before his passing I told him you're a good father and I Thank you for everything you have ever done for me.. He said come on Eric please you don't have to say that..
