Richard, Rich, or Dick, was born to Marie Rivera and Henry Salvi on April 28,1929 in Jersey City, New Jersey. He played basketball for Fordham University where he graduated with a degree in pharmacy. After graduation, he served in the Korean War. Rich was married to Marie Ferret and raised a family in Westwood NJ. Dick and Marie owned and operated Davis Pharmacy together where they lovingly worked side by side for over 2 decades.
Upon retirement to Safety Harbor, they enjoyed traveling, spending time with their grandkids, eating hot dogs at Palm Pavilion, and holding hands. Dick was devoted to his family and was always there for them.
His cookie jar was always full. He was a role model, a giver of advice (only when you asked), a great judge of character, and everything we could have wanted in a dad, pop-pop, and brother.
He is survived by his children Richard (Lisa) Salvi, Jr., Patrice (Lou) Morton, and Michael (Debbie) Salvi, his grandchildren Ricky Salvi III, Katie Salvi, Krissy Alexander, Nicole Laidig, Sarah Werner, and Emily Menghini, 5 great- grandkids, sister Jacqueline Mathis, and niece Kim Druch.
He is predeceased by his wife Marie Salvi and grandson Michael Morton.
Services will be held on Saturday December 7th at 1:00pm at Espiritu Santo Catholic Church with an inurnment at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home at 2:00pm and a reception at Safety Harbor Spa to follow.
