Rosario J. Farina

Farina, Rosario J. (Gonzalez), 77, of Clearwater, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2012. She was born in Tampa and came to Clearwater in 1956. She was a graduate of the University of Florida, a member of Phi Beta Kappa and of course, an avid Gator fan. She was a teacher for 15 years with St. Cecelia School and enjoyed her time as assistant principal towards the end of her tenure. She also taught in the Pinellas County School System and retired after 18 years. She was instrumental in the development of the Nova Net Education System and remained actively involved in the program until August, 2010. For her, it was always about “teaching the kids.” Rosario is survived by 3 sons, John Farina of Gainesville, GA, Rick Farina of Paris, France and Ed Farina of Clearwater; a brother, John Gonzalez of Tampa and 2 grandchildren, Ashlee Farina Younger and John Michael Farina. She was predeceased by her grandson, Tanner in 2004.
