

Ruth Geraldine Nothdurft of Dunedin, Florida passed away on November 1, 2025. She was born November 5, 1923 in St Louis, Missouri to Reverend William H. Wolfe and Lena Lehman Wolfe. She moved to Cape Girardeau, Missouri in 1937 when her father was called to Pastor Grace United Methodist Church. She attended Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau and later received her Bachelor’s Degree from Iowa State University in Ames. She taught vocational home economics for one and a half years in Iowa. In 1947 she married Clifton G. Nothdurft. She was a devoted wife, mother and friend to many.
She is a former resident of Overland Park, Kansas over 50 years where she was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church. She was actively involved in Women’s Society of Christian Service and church circle.
Ruth was always a game enthusiast and enjoyed/earned many trophies for ping pong, high score in bridge and other card and table games. She liked challenging herself with word jumbles and sudoku. She also enjoyed sewing, fishing, vacationing, beach shelling and picnics with family as well as traveling/cruises with friends. She especially enjoyed and will be remembered for making sugar cookies with her grand and great grandchildren!
Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Clifton; brother Bill Wolfe and two sisters, Anna Margaret Houts and Helen Ueleke. She is survived by three daughters: Julie (Mike) Blau – Pleasanton, CA; Carol (Randy) Bradshaw – Tampa, Fl; Donna Nothdurft-VanAtta (Ron) – Tarpon Springs, Fl; seven grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren.
Following cremation, a celebration of life / memorial service and burial will be held at Floral Hills Memorial Garden Cemetery in Kansas City, Missouri at a later date.
Ruth supported many charitable organizations. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to: St. Jude’s, Metropolitan Ministries, Disabled American Veterans or charity of your choice.
