Violet Mae Mears

Violet Mears 92, of Largo FL, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 24, 2015 at Oak Manor Nursing Home. She was born on January 07, 1923 to parents, James Henry Hall and Phoebe Georgianna (Gardner) Hall in Latrobe, PA. Violet was a waitress in the restaurant industry for many years. She loved her family and things of beauty, such as flowers. Her trademark was the artistic and fancy nails she sported every week. Violet was a member of Annona United Methodist Church in Largo for 67 years. Violet was also a member of Women of The Moose Lodge #1697 and was a College of Regent. She was predeceased by husband, Robert Edwin Mears, Sr. and is survived by 4 children: Robert Mears (Hilda), of Largo, FL; Randy Mears of Clearwater, FL; Kathy Wheeler (Joseph) of Fort Myers, FL; Barry Mears (Carol) Bellaire, FL. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Michael Mears; Gloria Brown; Jennifer Murphy; Scott Wheeler and Amanda Calhoun and 9 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Violet is also survived by sisters Helen Kloos of Kansas; Betty Jean Slusser of Derry, PA and a brother Kenneth Hall of Derry, PA. The family would like to thank Nicole Fyler for your love, support and care of Violet over the years. Violet will be missed dearly. The funeral service, officiated by Pastor Gary Thomas, will be held at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home 2853 Sunset Point Road Clearwater, FL on Thursday, April 30, 2015 with visitation at 1:00 pm and service at 2:00 pm. Entombment will follow at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park. Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
