

She was born November 29, 1923 in Yadkin County, a daughter of Miles and Mary Grubbs Welborn. She married George Andrew “Mickey” Tamer Sr. in 1946. He preceded her in death in 2001.
She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving are nine children, Joe (Pam) Tamer of Bat Cave, Mickey (DeeDee) Tamer of Manassas, VA, Tony Tamer of Winston-Salem, Vickie (Calvin Nash) Tamer of Winston-Salem, Andy (Liza) Tamer of Lewisville, Chris (Amy) Tamer of Germanton, Gina (Phil) Player of Lewisville, Pat (Dana) Tamer of Garner, and Susan (Joe) Beckley of Winston-Salem; her grandchildren, Jeff, Melissa, Jessie, Zach, Luke, Matt, Lizi, Michael, Lindsay, Jonathan, Dylan, Remy, Thomas, Sarabeth, Emily, Austin, Carly, Benjamin, Rachel, Becca; and her great grandchildren, Amanda, Wesley, Abigail, William, Calissa, Grace, Jackson, and Lily.
She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.
A loving, loyal mother who lived with honor and died with dignity. Her examples in life have shaped our family’s character. Thank You, Mom!
A liturgy mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Winston-Salem. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Frank Volger and Sons Reynolda Road Chapel in Winston-Salem. Burial will be in Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall.
