

Betty was born June 23, 1931 in Davie County, a daughter to the late Willis Vestal Gobble and the late Flossie Lanier Gobble. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Gary L. Rice, a granddaughter, Kelly Hayes and ten siblings, Irvin Gobble, Ottis Gobble, Felix Gobble, J.B. Gobble, Howard Gobble, Willis Gobble, Jeraldine Gobble, Virgle Gobble, Mavis Peoples, and Zula Vae Meadows.
Betty was employed at Hanes Hosiery and AT&T. She was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed blue birds and flowers, and she loved her family. She is survived by two daughters, Deborah Neal and husband, David of Charleston, SC and Sandra Hayes and husband Bill of Advance; one brother, Clarence Gobble and wife Floy of Winston-Salem; six grandchildren, Tavis Neal, Shannon Swanson, Josh Neal, and Cameron Neal, and Kim Hayes and Christopher Hayes and wife Gwien; eight great grandchildren, Tori and Bella, Gracen, Gary, Shayna, Billy, Gabe, and Seth and a large extended family.
A funeral service will be held 2 PM, Monday, November 3rd at Frank Vogler and Sons Clemmons Chapel, with Mr. Tim Dunn officiating. Burial will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at Frank Vogler and Sons Funeral Home, Clemmons Chapel.
The family would like to offer a sincere and special thank you to all the nurses at Hospice and her care givers Teresa Terwilinger, Sandra Barnes, Sue Slater and Charlene for the love, care, and support given to our mother during the last stages of her life.
