He was born in Surry County, North Carolina on June 21, 1943. Carlton worked as a tilesetter for many years ending his career as a subcontractor.
He loved car racing and enjoyed NASCAR and going to Bowman Gray Stadium. But most of all, he loved his family. Carlton is survived by his wife of 54 years, Gloria Nichols; daughter, Tracy Nichols (Lance) Bivins; and grandchildren, Brandi and London Bivins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Vertie Nichols Boger and stepfather, John Paul Boger.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 2nd at 11am at Parklawn Memorial Gardens.
