

Charles E. Lingenfelser, Jr., “Bud”, 84, of Winston-Salem passed away May 17, 2012 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Nancy of 57 years; and his sister Marsha Denton. His immediate survivors are his son Charles E. Lingenfelser, III (Denise) of Fuquay Varina; daughters Susan Scott (Stan) of Lewisville and Claire Zadow (Ryszard) of Waller, TX; grandchildren, Dana Lingenfelser; Paxton Scott; Colby Scott; and sister Frances Brothers of Union, KY. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving as a cook, was employed at RJR Archer for 35 years as an accountant, and was a Master Mason. He was a scout master and a Junior Acheivement Leader. Bud was a member of the First Christian Church of Winston-Salem where he served the church in many capacities from deacon and accountant to cook and bus driver. He was also a volunteer at Samaritan Ministries in their soup kitchen where he used his cooking skills to serve hundreds of people. He enjoyed many bus trips and cruises with his wife. Bud was a “hands-on” type of person building furniture, punching tin, crafts and even soap box derby cars. He was devoted to his family, especially his grandchildren who will miss him. A Memorial Service will take place on Monday, May 21, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Christian Church of Winston-Salem with inurnment to follow in the church columbarium. The family will receive friends following the inurnment. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church or to Samaritan Ministries. A special thanks to those who served Bud at Kate B.
