

Esther Clarice Self Gentry, 85, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina passed away on April 13,2015 at Homestead Hills Skilled Nursing Facility following a brief illness. She was born in Forsyth County on August 23, 1929 to the late Eugene Henry and Esther Stanley Self. Clarice was a lifelong member of Oak Summit United Methodist Church and was very active there as long as her health allowed. Clarice was a very kind, loving and witty lady that shared a very special bond with everyone that knew her. She loved spending time at Emerald lsle Beach and her many years of working at the Dixie Classic Fair. ln addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Edgar Gentry, her son, Stephen Brian Gentry, and her brothers, Wendell, EH, and Stanley Self. She is survived by one sister, Betty Self Cooke of Winston-Salem, who she loved dearly; two sons, Vic Gentry and wife, Cynthia of Durham and Jeff Gentry and wife, Melinda of Pfafftown; six grandchildren, Jennifer, Josh, Lauren, Faren, Caroline, Emily and special grandson, Brent; seven great grandchildren and all of her loving nieces and nephews that thought the world of Aunt Clarice. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:30 am on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Forsyth Memorial Park on Yadkinville Rd. The family will receive friends by the Graveside from 10:30 am until service time at 11:30 am .
