Dewey Henry Sherrill

Clemmons- Mr. Dewey Henry Sherrill, 84, of Clemmons died at Forsyth Medical Center on April 28, 2013. Graveside services will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, May 2, at Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons.

Mr. Sherrill was born in Iredell County to the late Mr. and Mrs. Wade Winfield and Ila Richardson Sherrill. He was a member of the Teamsters Union Local 391 and was employed as an aribitrator for the union since the 1960's and was involved with the National Affiliation of Teamsters. Mr. Sherrill was a member of Clemmons First Baptist Church for over twenty years.

He is survived by his daughters, Gayle (Rex) Slate of Kernersville, Sandra Sherrill of Norfolk, VA, Kim (Boyce) Gabriel of Newton, Pamela (Jeff) Cockrum of Huntersville, Glenda (Leslie) Frye of Clemmons and Kimberly Sherrill of Cornelius; grandchildren, Megan (Keith) Stabasefski, Sean Cockrum, Ryan Cockrum, Halie Russell, Trey Frye, Logan Frye, and Kara Gabriel; sister-in-law, Barbara Sherrill of Winston-Salem; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings.

The family would like to thank the staff of Regency Care of Clemmons for their kindness, support and compassion shown to Mr. Sherrill during his stay.
