I met Donna years ago when we worked at a Winston Salem company together. What stands out to me, still? That big, bright, and genuine smile! It told me right off the bat that she was the real deal and I wasn’t wrong. Always stories to share of her family and always a willingness to lend a helping hand. She reached out to me not all that long ago and we said we would get together. That never happened. Life happens and we made different choices along the way. Of course now, as is often the case when it becomes too late, I have regret. People, we never know when God is going to call us or someone we know and/or love, home. So, when you have the opportunity get together, say the I’m sorry’s and love you’d and forgive!! Before it’s too late. 

Momma was a tenacious women. Strong and Independent. She always and I mean always had her kids back.  You always knew no matter what, no matter where she would come get you if you needed her. There was always something delicious cooking in her home and she always made sure you had a plenty. She welcomed everyone and enjoyed showing them here newest delights. 
We didn’t always see Eye to eye but She was a good women. And I miss her terribly. 
I am grateful for the time we got to share in this life and I will do my best to make her proud of me. 

Donna was always so kind to me! She was funny , caring and a great cook. She cared deeply for people and would do what she could to help. She was funny and loved her chickens!

My heart aches for the time we missed getting to know and love one another dear little sister.  I am thankful that we were able to find one another.  Although the time was too short, I am grateful that you are no longer in pain and are with our Lord and Savior in eternal peace.   I will see you in heaven.   I love your sweet mother and your children and am honored they want me in their lives.

Steffiany, Liz and Eli,

We all know how honest and straight forward your mom was and that is why we all loved her! She will be missed by many. I will miss Donna's contagious smile and of course our political conversations. Donna was someone I could go a few months without talking to and yet when we talked, we picked up where we left off.  I was honored to be apart of her life celebration  and her final wishes that she requested the evening I visited her. She will always be a special person to me and if either one of you need anything, please don't hesitate to reach out. I love you all.

I remember her smile in that light blue convertible car....I think Eli and I were in highschool maybe. I remember her noting how much I loved her son...and how in every picture my head would lean over on Eli's shoulder. Now every time I take a picture I think of that funny tendency and how loved to lean on Eli, as pointed out by his mom. Sending my love to your whole family and my deepest empathy of how hard it is to lose a parent and how strong they were to endure many years of health challenges and fought it til the very end. Love your family deeply.

There was never a dull moment with my grandma, from rubbing her feet with lotion to playing marbles to her reading us books to her cooking our favorite food French fries in the deep fryer with Crisco of course!!!  I could go on forever but I will forever cherish every moment I miss you so much but I know you’re at peace with uncle tom  and papa and jojo! I’m gonna make y’all proud of me! Please keep looking over us! Until I see you again my beautiful angel
