He was born October 13, 1951 in Hagerstown, Indiana to the late William and Marion Todd. He attended Purdue University on a golf scholarship and received a BS in Industrial Engineering and a Master of Science degree in Operations Research. He worked for Reynolds American for thirty-three years, retiring in April of 2010 and was a member of Redeemer Presbyterian Church.
He took great delight in life and especially in loving his family. He enjoyed coaching and encouraging his sons in their athletic pursuits, and he loved planning trips for his family to enjoy together. His playful spirit influenced everyone who knew him, whether he was sharing his golf skills, coaching Little League, or investigating the latest in technology. His athletic ability was recognized early on as a junior golfer, and he was later honored as MVP of the Purdue Golf Team during his senior year. He continued to take joy in competition throughout his life. His sensitive and tender heart, as well as his joy in living, will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his loving wife, Annetta G. Todd; two sons, Ryan and David; a sister Nancy (Les) Lawhorn, and a brother, Bill.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday at Redeemer Presbyterian Church with reception immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Clemmons Food Pantry, 6000 Meadowbrook Mall Ct., Clemmons, NC 27012.
