

Edna was born on September 8, 1921, in Winston-Salem to the late Claude R. Simmons and Maggie Burwell Simmons. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, George L. Turner, Jr. She was a previous member of First Baptist Church in Winston-Salem prior to her moving. Edna retired from Winston-Salem School system. Edna was able to enjoy seeing five generations of her family when her great grandson Jordan was born. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister.
She is survived by her daughter, Diann Reeves and her husband, Ray of Atlanta, GA; son, Danny Turner Michaels and spouse, Orlando Alexander of Pasadena, CA; grandchildren, Kimberly D. Myers and her husband, Timothy of Advance, Gregory Small and his wife, Juliet of L.A., CA; great grandsons, Jordan and Joseph Myers; and a sister, Hilda Berger of Greensboro, NC.
A graveside service will be held 3:00 PM, Wednesday, August 6th at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Frank Vogler and Sons Funeral Home, Reynolda Chapel.
