She was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Kilgore retired from RJ Reynolds after 30 years of valuable service.

She enjoyed ballroom dancing and received many ribbons and awards.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Samuel Kilgore Sr.; and son, Walter Samuel Kilgore Jr.

She is survived by son, James Kilgore (Kathy); adopted daughter, Helen Posey (Louey); 5 grandchildren, James D. Kilgore (Melissa), Shannon Kilgore, Destiny Price (Eric), Jason Gentle, and Tamika Whittington; 12 great grandchildren, Anderson, Aidan, and Preston Kilgore, Sylas Murphy and their mother, Jessica Bolling, Jamison Kilgore, Wesley and Carlos Kilgore, Emmaral, Irelynn, and Arizona Price, Dakota and Jason Gentle; sister, Rachel Crews; brother, Harold “Jack” Wooten (Jean); brother-in-law, Charles McGee; nieces and nephews, Sarah Swaim (Ed), Kay Andersen (Bill), Rodney Crews (Judy), Susan Smith (Wayne), and Wayne McGee (Teresa); and many great nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be Friday, March 29, 2013, 11:30 am, at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Kevin Conley officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 28, 2013, 6-8 pm, at Vogler and Sons Reynolda Chapel.
