

Frank K. Griffin, age 88, of Winston-Salem, passed away Thursday, June 4, 2015. He was born in Forsyth County on June 8, 1926 to the late Franklin Griffin and Ivy King Griffin. Frank served in the Navy during WWII. He retired from the Winston-Salem Journal after 48 years as a typesetter. After his retirement he owned and operated his own business, Griffin’s utility trailers here in Winston-Salem, NC. In his later years one of his favorite things to do was ride around on his golf-cart with his best furry friend, Buster. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Hazel Matthews Griffin and his sister, Lillian Dean. He is survived by his brother, Joe Griffin and his wife; four nieces; two nephews; a special friend, Randy Forbus; a special furry friend, Buster, and his special friend and longtime caregiver, Marty Perry.
