

Mr. Fred McLane Brinkley, 62, died March 15, 2011 at Randolph County Hospital. Funeral services for Mr. Brinkley will be held Sunday, March 20, 2011 at Frank Vogler & Sons, Reynolda Road Chapel with the Reverend Michael Beasley officiating.
Mr. Brinkley was born in Forsyth County to the late Jackson Monroe and Mildred Griffin Brinkley. He graduated from Parkland High School and served our country in the US Army. Fred was a member of Konnoak Hills Methodist Church and has been employed for 42 years at Sonoco Corrflex formerly Southern Corrugated. Fred will be missed by his friends and family who will remember him as a man with a great sense of humor and a big jokester. He was laid back and easy going taking life as it came. He loved a good round of golf and also enjoyed basketball, football and baseball.
He is survived by his children; son and fiancé Chad Brinkley and Stephanie Smith of Winston-Salem and daughter Tracie Brinkley; sister, Sandy Barker and husband Edwin of Mayodan; grandchildren, Reese Austyn Brinkley and Justin Tyler Ball; and former wife and mother of his son, Annette Teague Brinkley.
