He was born July 14, 1945 in Forsyth County to the late Preston Odway Hudson and Nellie Elizabeth Beasley Hudson. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Timothy Allen Hudson; two brothers, Milton and Ervin Hudson; three sister, Geraldine Lawson, Joann Tucker, and Virginia Gant; and a niece, Tracy Easter. Herbert leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Judy Beauchamp Hudson; daughter, Theresa Hudson; grandson, Devon Hudson (Brittany); granddaughter, Deja Hudson; four great grandchildren, Allen, Annie, Sophia, and Brooks; brother, David Hudson, Sr.; and three sisters, Lillie Anderson (Roger), Wilma Stilley, and Cathy Smith.
Herbert was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. When young, he had dreamed of parachuting and being a cowboy-he was able to do both. As a Green Beret for 9 years, he parachuted nearly 100 times. He had horses and actually participated in a cattle round up and did a lot of trail riding. He was devotedly active in several organizations. But above all, he loved being with his family the most.
A celebration of Herbert's life will take place at Sharon United Methodist Church on Saturday, January 20th at 1pm. The family will receive friends for a visitation following the service.
