Jerri Sue Shumate

Jerri was a “Coat of Many Colors”; she loved her family and friends, cooking with her mother and daughter, singing and dancing with her grandson and crafts. She enjoyed making people smile and her laughter was from the heart. Her strength by far, outweighed her struggles.

She had a deep passion with her husband for helping families for Christmas through their Non-Profit organization “Mr. & Mrs. Claus Helps All”. She was a proud mother and MiMi, her husband was her rock and she was his saving grace. She loved her Mother and Father dearly and was a firm believer that Family is where life begins and love never ends.

She was a daughter to the late Jerry Dean Compton and surviving mother, Doris Compton Standen and Sandra Compton.

She is survived by her husband, Johnny Ray Shumate; daughter, Crystal Nichole Griffith (Josh) and grandson, Bryan Ray Griffith; mother, Doris Compton Standen and Sandra Compton; siblings, Deborah Compton Marshall (James), Cynthia Compton Shrewsbury (Glen), Gina Compton, Gerry Compton (Debbie), Deana DeFrank (Martin), Sherry Clark (Robert), Teresa Moser (Dave), along with several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of life will be held on Monday, November 2nd 2015 from 3pm-6pm. Please contact Nichole @ [email protected]
