Born on Sept. 3, 1955, he was the son of the late Joseph Hill Davis, Sr. and Shirley Fulk Davis. Joe retired from RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company as a Power Plant Operator at the RJR Tobaccoville power station until it was closed for operation. He also served as an advisor, trainer, and teacher for three years as the plant was reconstructed in Guatemala. He operated power plants in Texas and Missouri as well.
Joe was an avid sports fan who cherished the Carolina Tarheels, NASCAR, and the Saint Louis Cardinals.
In addition to his father, Joe was preceded in death by his precious niece, Jessica Hill Davis. He is survived by his mother Shirley Davis and his brother Kelly Dalton Davis and wife Paula, parents of Jessica.
Left also to remember him are many family elders, a host of cousins and other family members who cherish him, as well as friends throughout the country and the world.
The family would like to thank the hospital staff at Forsyth Medical Center and Forsyth Hospice and Palliative Care for excellent care during his stay.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 pm on, Thursday, January 19, 2017, at Frank Vogler and Sons on Reynolda Road, Winston-Salem, NC.
