Linda Katherine Bolen

Linda was born in Rural Hall on September 1, 1943 to the late Wilmer Griffin and Addie Wood Griffin. She graduated from Reynolds High School. Linda retired from Fairchild/Burns Aerospace. She was a member of Bible Fellowship Baptist Church.

Linda was fiercely independent and strong-willed. This led to her family affectionately nicknaming her “Sassy.” She loved taking road trips, visiting the beach, and watching her hummingbirds, but most of all, Linda loved her family.

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her siblings, Richard Griffin, Anne Slate, and Regina Huffman; son-in-law, David Johnson; and stepson, James Bolen. She leaves behind her devoted husband of 39 years, Jim Bolen; children, Angie Johnson, Cherie Hill, and Michael Hendrix; stepdaughter, Connie Wood; grandchildren, Brooke (Michael) Spillman, Joel Johnson, Kaila Bauberger, Michael Hendrix, Jr., Dylan Wood, and Brendan Wood; great grandchildren, Piper Johnson and Sawyer Spillman; siblings, Larry Griffin, Sandra Fay Lowry, and Pamela Royal; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other loved ones.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 5th at 2pm at Frank Vogler & Sons Funeral Home in Clemmons. The family will receive friends at 1pm for a visitation. Burial will be at Westlawn Gardens of Memory.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
