Loraine Newman Swaim

Loraine was born on November 21, 1925 in Surry County, North Carolina to the late Garland and Nonnie Moser Newman. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Swaim and nine brothers and sisters.

Loraine was a member of Union Hill Friends Meeting. She was a beautician and worked out of her home. She then went to work for Pell Care doing hair. Loraine was an avid gardener, seamstress, loved reading and cooking for her family. She was a wonderful mother, loved her family and a devoted mom.

She is survived by her children, Karen (Wayne) Kiser of Pfafftown, Steven (Kim) Swaim of Midway, Tim (Sandra) Swaim of Clemmons, Barry (Kim) Swaim of Clemmons and Kent (Ginger) Swaim of Walnut Cove, ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Loraine will be held on Wednesday, August 3rd at 2:00 p.m. at Frank Vogler & Sons Funeral Home Chapel on Reynolda Road, Winston-Salem, with Rev. Andrew Wild presiding. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Gardens of Memory, Walkertown.
