Mabel’s most fond memories were of her time with her loving husband, Frederick Francis Church, Sr. After his death in 1969, she dedicated her life to her faith and was active in her church, as well as raising their daughter. The days of her life were spent sewing, cooking, baking bread, reading her bible and spending time with her church family and relatives. As her health declined, her loving sister, Blanche was dedicated to her care and well-being.
The family is especially grateful to the staff at Southfork Senior Living Community for their kind care over the past 8 years.
Mabel was the daughter of William Glen Sharp and Carrie Latham Sharp of Bluff City, Tennessee. She is survived by her daughter, Glenda Church Smith, of Plano, Texas; sisters, Blanche Hutchens, of East Bend, North Carolina; Louise Eads, of Orlando, Florida; Helen Buckles of Elizabethton, Tennessee; and brother, Paul Sharp, of Carson City, Nevada; niece, Sandra Hutchens, of East Bend, North Carolina, and her daughter, Autumn Ingool, as well as other numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Forsyth Memorial Cemetary at 12 o’clock noon on June 19, 2015, where she will be buried next to her beloved husband, Fred.
