

Margaret Odell Harris, age 89, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday (1/5) at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice of Winston-Salem. She was born August 31, 1921 in Anawalt, West Virginia, daughter of the late Brown and Mable White. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of sixty five years, Lacy Harris. Mrs. Harris retired from the Winston-Salem Forsyth County School System and was a member of Robinhood Baptist Church.
Margaret was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister and never met a stranger or person that she could not talk with. Surviving family includes two daughters Violet McKinney and her husband Ralph of Winston-Salem, and Juanita Sparks and her husband Bill of Pfafftown; one son Lacy Harris Jr. and his wife Nancy of Myrtle Beach, SC; three sisters Betty, Delores, and Bradley; two brothers Jack and Curtis; nine grandchildren Billy, Tim, Tina, Ralph III, Jerry, Christine, Angie, Kim, and Ashley; nine great grandchildren Matthew, Cadon. Teagan, Crystal, Bridgett, Nicole, Corey, Brannon, and Jake; three great great grandchildren Madison, Logan, and Matthew.
A Graveside Funeral Service celebrating the Life of Margaret Odell Harris will be conducted on Saturday (1/8) 2:00 PM at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown, NC with Rev. John Hackworth, Robinhood Baptist Church officiating. Family and friends will gather Friday (today) from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Vogler Funeral Home Reynolda Chapel, a Dignity Memorial Provider, 2951 Reynolda Road, Winston Salem (336-722-6106).
