Mary Harris Wilkens, 77, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born October 6, 1934 in Emporia, VA, to the late Henry and Myrtle Butler Harris. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Erma Lee Gaskins and brother, Raymond Harris. Survivors include her loving husband of 54 years, George Wilkens; children, George R. (Lynne) Wilkens of Honolulu, Hawaii, Lou Ann (Marvin) Hutchison of Waco, NC, Nancy Lynn Wilkens of the home; sisters, Peggy Ames of Virginia Beach, Va., Jeanette Wicker of Manassas, VA, Eloise Marable of South Boston, VA; brother, Al Harris of Chesterfield, VA; two grandchildren, Ruffin and Zach Hutchison; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Sunday, October 30, at Vogler Funeral Home in Clemmons. Interment will be held at Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons at a later date.
