Myrtle Marie Vernon

She was born June 4,1923 in Surry County, to the late Claude and Nancy Spencer Ayers. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased in death by two sisters, Marcelle Smith and Kathleen Parker and one brother, Ulysses. She was predeceased in death by two daughters, Tawana Leigh Vernon and Gipsy Paulette Shea.

She is survived by her daughter, Jessie Carolyn Harrell (Neal) of Chapel Hill, NC, and two sons, Keith Swanson Vernon and Neal Andrew Vernon both of Pfafftown, NC, her devoted niece, Susan Parker Stamey (Roger) and two sisters, Eunice McGuire of Welcome, NC, and Wanda Eggars (Larry) of White Plains, NC and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, fourth and fifth generation children.

She will be fondly remembered among her family and many friends by her quick wit and beautiful bright smile. She touched many lives with her friendly personality and joy of living.

Visitation will be held at Frank Vogler & Sons Funeral Home, 2915 Reynolda Road, Winston-Salem, NC. Monday evening, December 26th from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 27th at 11:00 in Frank Vogler & Sons Reynolda Chapel, officiated by The Reverend Christa Warise. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

The family wishes to thank her former neighbors on Huntingreen Lane and Assembly Terrace, her favorite homes. We especially wish to thank the staff at The Brian Center and Hospice for their gentle care and devotion.
