
Nancy Crane Elliott, 93, of Winston-Salem, died Sunday (10/10) at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Born in Brooklyn, NY she retired as a Client Consultant with the Bowery Savings Bank in Massapequa, NY.
Mrs. Elliott was preceded in death by her parents Robert Dillon and Nellie (Irving) Crane; husband John J. Elliott; and brother Harold Crane. Surviving family includes sons John J. Elliott and wife Lynda, H. Robert Elliott and wife Elise; daughter Nancy E. Metzgar and husband Carl; grandchildren Jennifer and Thomas Ward of Clemmons, Johanna and James Brown of Winston Salem, Sarah and James Steffner of Chattanooga, TN, Andrew Elliott of Bethel, CT, Julia Elliott and Michael Higgins of Boxford, MA, Mary Elliott and Michael Ramirez of Albuquerque, NM, Matthew and Sayward Elliott of Pawley's Island, SC, Elizabeth and Michael Brown of Leetsdale, PA, Patricia Marcrum of Sewickley, PA; twenty four great grandchildren.
She was a very active member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Winston-Salem where she served on the Older Adults Committee and the Book Store Guild. Mrs. Elliott was also very active in the Altar Guild and as a Sunday School teacher in her parish on Long Island. Her interest included cooking, sewing, and gardening. Mrs. Elliot followed her late husband John’s interest in ornithology (bird watching).
A Funeral Service, celebrating the life of Nancy Crane Elliott, will be conducted on Thursday (10/14) 3:00 PM at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church 520 Summit Street, Winston-Salem (336-723-4391) Graveside services and burial will be in Pinelawn National Cemetery, Long Island, NY. Family and friends will visit on Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Vogler Funeral Home Clemmons Chapel, 1701 Middlebrook Drive, Clemmons (336-766-4714).
