

Nellie Pauline “Polly” (Holcomb) Waller, 85 went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 with her daughter and son-in-law by her side. Pauline had been a resident of Magnum Care of Adrian, Michigan for the past three years, and made many friends there among the residents and staff, including her special nurse Chris.
Pauline was born on August 2, 1925 in Yadkin County, North Carolina to Arthur and Ina (Chamberlain) Holcomb. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry A. Waller and son Mark C. Waller. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Waller Lee, son-in-law, Jeffery Lee and her four beloved grandchildren, John, Nicholas, Laura, and Alexander Gialanella.
Pauline, was fondly known as “Little Bit” to her family and friends due to her diminutive stature. Pauline began her career as a telephone operator, and became a homemaker after the birth of her children. She finished her working life by utilizing her cooking skills in the Kroger Deli.
Pauline was an active member of Bible Baptist Church in Clemmons, until her move to Tecumseh, Michigan. There she resided with her daughter and son-in-law for over a year. Once at Magnum Care she continued to attend and enjoy worship services every Sunday and the many other activities provided. She loved to go out to eat with her family, and had a special fondness for ice cream and sweets.
A funeral service, celebrating the Life of Nellie Pauline “Polly” (Holcomb) Waller will be conducted on Friday, 1:00 PM, April 8, 2011, at the Vogler Funeral Home Clemmons Chapel, 2849 Middlebrook Drive, Clemmons (336-766-4714). Family and friends will visit on Thursday, April 7, 2011 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
