

Mr. Moody was born July 3, 1914 to the late Platt Duke and Florence Corriher Moody. He was also preceded in death by his wife of sixty years, LaRue C. Moody; three brothers Fred J. Moody, Hubert C. Moody, and Harold J. Moody.
Surviving family includes daughter Linda M. Baucom of Clemmons, NC, daughter and son in law Betty M. and Carlton C. Alexander of Hoffman, NC; grandchildren Angie Baucom of Roswell, GA and Marty Baucom of Lexington, NC; a number of nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Mr. Moody graduated from Central High School in Charlotte. He retired from Cadmus (Washburn Printing Company) after thirty seven years. He was a lifelong member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Charlotte, where he printed all church materials from 1957 to 2008. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Shriners.
A Funeral Service, celebrating the Life of Platt D. Moody, will be conducted at Calvary United Methodist Church, 512 West Boulevard, Charlotte, NC (704-333-3388) at Noon on Wednesday (12/29). The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00 AM until service time. Reverend Melita Padilla will officiate and interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Charlotte.
Mr. Moody, also known by his grandchildren and many friends as “Pete”, was a devoted family man and a wonderful son, brother, and uncle. He was caring and gentle to his wife, children, and grandchildren. He never said no to anyone that needed help and was always there for everyone.
