                                                                  A Tribute to my Brother Rex Johnson

My dear brother Rex went to his heavenly home on Saturday, May 5, 2018.  He was a beloved Christian husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother.  We were blessed to be raised by two wonderful Christian parents.  Rex was also my mentor and friend.  We never had an argument or even a coarse word.  Rarely did we respectfully disagree except maybe on the direction a putt was going to break, and he was always right.
Rex taught me how to throw a baseball (a curve, a slider, etc.).  He was also a very giving person, always willing to help me with anything (putting up barbed wire fence, clearing land, hauling bricks and countless other things).  As an example, several years ago Rex built me a Cedar bird feeder and later a blue  bird house.  Not only did he build them, but he also bought the iron poles and metal plates to mount them, as well as the metal tube to put into the ground.
Rex could also fix anything.  He would figure out what was wrong or the part needed, order the part and would only accept reimbursement for the part.
Rex loved the mountains.  Our Grandmother Johnson always said she loved the mountains because she felt a closeness to our Lord.   He really looked forward to our annual Johnson Mountain Golf Trip with our family and a good friend Johnny Bailey.   To the delight of everyone on the trip, Rex enjoyed making the most delicious  peach ice cream along with the help of Uncle Howard and later  with Howard's son Roger Reece.
I cannot think of a single attribute that a perfect brother would have that Rex did not have.
I know that we will be reunited in Heaven with our loved ones, until then I will miss him dearly.

I just wanted to express my deepest sorrow for your loss. I know it's so hard parting ways with our dear loved ones. No doubt this is a very difficult time for you all, but please draw comfort from the fact that soon our Heavenly Father has promised to make death "no more”, here on Earth, and also to bring back our loved ones that have already "fallen asleep" so that we have the chance to be reunited with them (2Cor 1:3,4  Rev 21:3,4  John 5:28,29 & 1 Thess 4:14). Again, please accept my condolences

Mr. Johnson also leaves behind 7 grand-children and 7 great grand-children and many beloved nieces and nephews to cherish in his memories.
