

He was born September 29, 1915 in Yadkin Co., a son of Robert Patterson and Emma Viola Myers Lindsay. He married Roxie Alice Donevant on December 22, 1939. She preceded him in death in 2006.
He was also preceded in death by four sisters, Estelle Willard, Lottie Brown, Thelma Gordon, and Alma Lewter.
Surviving are six children, Sylvia L. (David, deceased) Wall of Winston-Salem, Rebecca L. (Roger) Leab of King, Robert Paul “Bob” (Tilda) Lindsay Jr. of King, Carol Jean L. (Sam) Ogburn of Winston-Salem, Phillip Dean (Jackie) Lindsay of Winston-Salem, Susan L. (Jack, deceased) Ballard of Germanton; 12 grandchildren, Keith (Dianne, deceased) Fulk, Stewart Edward Fulk III, Suzanne Wall, Angela Wall, Paul (Keisha) Lindsay III, Joshua (Whitney) Leab, Matthew (Gretchen) Lindsay, Max Ogburn, Stacey (Zach) McCraw, Chad (Jaclyn) Ballard, Wade Lindsay, Jake Lindsay; six great grandchildren, Kenneth Fulk, Hannah Fulk, Vanessa Wall-Jones, Victoria Wall-Jones, Stella Lindsay, Bridgette Leab; one brother, Claude Kenneth (Betsy) Lindsay of Winston-Salem; and several special nieces and nephews.
Paul worked as a mechanic for R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company for 32 years until retirement.
He was a member at Forest Hill Baptist Church in Winston-Salem for over 60 years. Where he served as a Deacon for 50 years, loved singing in the choir, taught Sunday school, worked with Finance, and assisted with Maintenance. He had a servant’s heart. He loved to garden, was a great Carpenter, and painter. He was a devoted husband to his wife of 66 years and was very kind and generous.
A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, January 28, 2013 at Forest Hill Baptist Church in Winston-Salem. Visitation will be from 12:30 until the time of service. Burial will be in Forsyth Memorial Park in Winston –Salem.
