

Ronald David “Ron” Jester, Sr., affectionately called Daddy, Gramps, and Uncle Ronald, passed away on March 10, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
Ronald was born on February 25, 1941, in Winston-Salem to the late David Montgomery Jester and Mozelle Moser Jester. Ronald was the loving husband of Deanna Sprinkle Jester for 62 years.
He was employed at R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company for 35 years, retiring in 1996 as a supervisor in manufacturing. Upon retirement, he then went to work for Bob Neill Mercedes-Benz as a courtesy driver for 27 years.
Ronald was a member of Clemmons United Methodist Church, where he served on the Altar Guild and the Staff Parish Relations Committee, and also served as an usher. He took pride in and loved working in his yard and fellowship with friends and family, especially his granddaughters, Caroline Jester and Laura Jester. He also loved his annual trips to Hilton Head with family and close friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Sarah Inez Parrish; and his brothers, Ira and Steve.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Deanna Sprinkle Jester; son David and daughter-in-law Monica; granddaughters Caroline and Laura; sisters Norma Joyner (Ronnie) and Sybil Joyner; nieces Cris Price (Hank) and Catherine Gilbertson (Geoff), both from Marietta, Georgia, and Kristi Welborn (Dusty) from Ararat, N.C.; nephews Craig Church (Julie) from Alexandria, Virginia, and Michael Jester from Statesville, N.C. Also surviving are several great-nieces and great-nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on March 21 at Clemmons United Methodist Church with Reverend John Fitzgerald and Reverend Chuck Smith officiating. The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the service. A private interment service will take place at Forsyth Memorial Park after the church service.
The family would like to thank everyone who prayed, supported, and walked beside them during Ronald's journey.
